Subject: S. Fike on the Shaklee difference

For 30 years I have been searching and researching information on health.

Having eaten my way back to health, from several serious degenerative diseases like arthritis, asthma and cancer, I am convinced that our lifestyle is key to be healthy. Our genes have a lot to do with it, but how we live influences which direction our genes decide to go when they get to a fork in the road.

After leaving nursing, and being disillusioned with the pushing of drugs and surgery instead of prevention, I have also become disillusioned with the food supplement industry. There are so few companies with integrity. I have wholesale privileges with around 12 companies, but most of them have some products I would never recommend: I have to get things for my clients sometimes because it is the best available, but still does not meet my standards for purity and potency.

The only company I have dealt with that has never in any way taken advantage of the consumer's ignorance, or used artificial sweeteners, colors, preservatives, etc, is Shaklee. IT was the first supplement company, making the first vitamin product before the word was even coined. They are the only company allowed to publish their research in peer reviewmedical journals - if you don't have the science, you don't get accepted. Shaklee science is impressive - they spend more on nutritional research than he U S government.

Good Housekeeping recently reported that 9 St John's Wort products tested had less than the label stated. Consumer report found the same with echinacea. In 14 B complex tested, only 3 met the minimal content and bioavailability standards. 9 skin products with vitamin C on the label were tested - only 3 had measurable amounts.......not nearly what was on the label. Silica was 300 times above the label amount in one product tested. Some companies put mineral oil on the label of a multivitamin. I called to ask why it was in there - "to keep the tableting machine from gumming up".(It also prohibits the absorption of fat soluble vitamins - the reason the AMA urges doctors never to use it)

In 1999, Shaklee was the only company to take ginseng off the market because all the sources were contaminated with a fungicide.

I could go on and on, but suffice it to say the age and integrity of any company is most important. Check the integrity by reading the label -biotin, the expensive b vitamin, is often less than 100% of the RDA and thiamin (B 1) is often over 1000% because it is so cheap - but that sells a product to the uninformed. Label padding is another trick - lots of items on the label that are in such short supply they could do no good, buthelp sell the bottle because the label looks so impressive.

It is almost impossible to get clinical studies from most companies -because they don't have them -and even harder from an independent lab.

Shaklee consistently has outside sources check their studies.

IN GOD WE TRUST ---------EVERYONE ELSE MUST HAVE DATA!!

Subject: Wonderful Shaklee Commentary by Ann Barry

In the network marketing world, 45 years is a far cry from the usual 9-month longevity. What has made the difference is Dr. Shaklee's legacy to quality and integrity. What has made the difference are the dedicated Home Team staff who have and continue to weather more than we could ever know. What has made the difference is people in the field that caught the vision, and helped others. These people are all heroes, for their innovation, fortitude, and dedication. It's not possible to name everyone, but I'd like to have you know some of my heroes.... 1) Charlie Orr 2) The Bedford staff 3)Earth Day Everyday Network (EDEN) core team---especially Shirley Koritnik for her hours and hours of unselfish, skillful work 4) Susie Brokaw and Roxanne Wilkins for their innovative work with training nationwide over the telephone and being on the cutting edge of doing internet leads 5) Bob Rice and The Wellness Center 6) Valda and Dave Setterholm and the years of 2nd Tuesday night meetings in Minneapolis. Such generous, giving people, who by going beyond the call of duty have made our lives better.

Let it flood over you what NOT having the benefits of Shaklee products and opportunity would have meant for your life. We have absolutely world-class products that are affordable. We have a business opportunity that is NOT known because we haven't told very many people. But that's changing, thanks to having new approaches like Maury Ransom's tax savings, or Rick Hill's puppydog approach on Air Source, or using Ginny Vaughn's Dreams approach, or Marty Frederick's Changing Brands used for years by seasoned leaders. There are challenges and changes for us at every stage in life, and I am so grateful for the heroes that put out a lifeline, a helping hand, a kind word, a look that says, "You're better than that....go for it!" If Shaklee has made that much of an impact on my life, I wonder how many more people would have been helped if I only opened up my mouth and asked them?

Please review with me the Shaklee Worldwide Vision and Mission Statement:
