Carla Overbeck
As captain
of the first U.S. team to win a World Cup Soccer match and of the U.S. team that won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympic games
in Atlanta, Carla Overbeck understands the importance of teamwork and physical stamina.
"On
our team, we pride ourselves on being in top-notch physical form," she says. "When you're in the 90th minute
of the game – or in the case of the World Cup, at the end of two 15-minute overtime periods – you have to go to
your reserves and reach down deep. That's when you realize that, hey, this [stamina] is the difference between winning
and losing."
Because she works out on a daily basis, Carla uses Shaklee Performance. "I
drink a lot of fluids, and Performance energizes me. I don't know if I could get by without it." She's also a
big fan of Carbo-Crunch® bars because they're filling, and they give her a little burst of energy without adding a
lot of fat to her diet.
Carla was a Shaklee kid. Her mother, Sandra Werden, is a Shaklee Supervisor
in Texas. Carla remembers Shaklee vitamins in front of her at the breakfast table from an early age. "I've been taking
Shaklee dietary supplements my entire life," she says, "and I think it's a big key to my success. "
Over the years, Carla has become more than a sports icon. She is a role model for young aspiring
athletes, and she's turning into a health conscious mom herself. Her son, Jackson, starts every day with Our vitamins
for Children.
