Why Are Air Purification Product Necessary?
In light of ever-increasing energy costs, Americans are sealing
their homes and buildings with better windows, insulation, and moldings. When homes and other buildings are sealed, contaminants
can build up, such as mold in the ductwork. As air passes through these ducts, the mold - along with chemicals given off by
paints, cleaners, glues, pressed board furniture, pesticides, and of course, cigarette smoke - is picked up and circulated
throughout the structure without ever being "cleaned."
According to the World Health Organization, 40% of all buildings
are a serious hazard to our health because of their polluted air.
Symptoms caused by indoor air pollutants can include:

Recent Media Stories on Ozone Generator Air Purifiers
Recent media stories have raised issues about air treatment units commonly termed "electrostatic precipitators"
and "ozone generators." None of these stories made any reference to our BEST AirPurifier units, which is appropriate
as neither the BEST AirPurifier nor the BEST AirPurifier Mobile® is an electrostatic precipitator or ozone generator.
BEST AirPurifier represents an advanced oxidation air treatment system using PhotohydroionizationT and, in the case of
the BEST AirPurifier 3000, electron generation. The BEST AirPurifier technology reduces the presence of odors, gases, and
airborne mold as well as particulate such as pollen, pet dander, dust and tobacco smoke.
In the BEST AirPurifier, an electron generator produces an expanding negative electrostatic field that neutralizes positively
charged pollutant particles to remove them from the air you breathe. Unlike a HEPA, electret, or electrostatic precipitator
system, the air in the room does not need to be pulled through the BEST AirPurifier 3000 to be treated. There are no plates
which require cleaning and which only remove particulates from air that pass through the plate filters.
Ozone generators produce ozone as their primary means of treating the air. Both the BEST AirPurifier 3000 and BEST AirPurifier
Mobile use a UV lamp in the photohydroionization module which emits UV light that strikes a target catalyst, thereby creating
an advanced oxidation process. Some ozone is produced to take part in the reaction, and a portion of the unused ozone, also
known as residual ozone, is emitted from the unit.
When the BEST AirPurifier unit is used as directed, test results substantiate the room air will not exceed 0.05 ppm -
the level that the FDA lists in the Code of Federal Regulations as the upper limit of ozone for occupied spaces.
Keep in mind that in small, unventilated spaces, even residual ozone may become noticeable and with continued use could
become an irritant to the eyes, nose and throat. Those with weaker respiratory systems (such as infants, the elderly, or
those with respiratory ailments such as asthma), or even pets, may be more sensitive and therefore use of the BEST AirPurifier
3000 and BEST AirPurifier Mobile may not be suitable for them.
Follow the recommended placement of the units as described in the Owner's Manual for optimal performance and safety.
